About Devi
Devi is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 14 years of experience supporting individuals and families in both India and Canada. Her diverse professional experience has shaped a compassionate, culturally responsive, and holistic approach to mental health and well-being.
Devi holds a Master’s degree in Social Work, specializing in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has also completed education and training in Community Social Work in Canada, strengthening her understanding of the social, cultural, and community factors that influence mental health and overall well-being.
Having lived and worked across different cultural and social environments, Devi has a particular understanding of the experiences that can accompany immigration and adjusting to life in a new country. She recognizes that the immigration journey can bring a unique combination of emotional, social, family, and practical challenges. Feelings of isolation, homesickness, cultural adjustment, changes in identity, relationship or family stress, uncertainty, and the pressure to adapt to a new environment can all affect mental health.
Throughout her career, Devi has supported people navigating a variety of life experiences and challenges, including anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, emotional difficulties, self-esteem, trauma, and other mental health concerns. She recognizes that every person’s journey is unique and takes a collaborative, client-centred approach to therapy.
Devi believes that therapy is a space where individuals should feel safe, heard, respected, and understood. She works alongside clients to explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change.
With experience working across different cultures and healthcare settings, Devi brings a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental perspective to her practice. She recognizes the important connections between our mental health, relationships, environment, life experiences, and broader social circumstances.
Reaching out for support can be an important first step. Devi is honoured to walk alongside her clients, offering a supportive space to reflect, heal, grow, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
“Therapy should be a space where individuals feel safe, heard, respected, and understood — a place to explore experiences, recognize strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.”
